Top notes: lemon, bergamot. Heart notes: mimosa, violet, suede. Base notes: amber, sandalwood, tobacco leaf. Perfumer: not officially disclosed. Year of release: 2023. Animalique is a fragrance about the primal, animal side of a person, which Byredo decided not to tame but to celebrate. The citrus start of lemon and bergamot here is only a short prelude: very quickly, soft mimosa and powdery violet come to the fore, underpinned by warm suede, like skin touching skin. In the base, the composition becomes deeper and calmer — amber and sandalwood envelop, and dry tobacco leaf adds a slight smoky bitterness. This is a fragrance for those who are not afraid to look contradictory: tender and at the same time wild, well-groomed and at the same time untamed.
